Short Trip

Hubby and I went on a very much-needed vacation last week.  It was nice.  It was for our 13th wedding anniversary.  And it was too short.  When we travel we like to stay in homes and apartments and cabins rather than hotels (if we can help it).  So we VRBO'd (hey - I think I just made up a term I like) our little trip and stayed in a cute little cabin in Blue Ridge, GA.  By the way … you can find all kinds of places to stay on VRBO, from cabins in the mountains (that are cheaper than hotels and B&Bs) to apartments in NYC (one of our next adventures with VRBO!).

We needed the time to be together … just the two of us.  We do so enjoy each other's company.  You may not know this, but we were best friends before we ever thought about dating each other.  And that friendship is still there and provides a strong foundation for our sometimes tumultuous marriage!

I &hearts him!!  He makes me

So my wonderful mom kept the girls for us while we ventured off to Blue Ridge.  It rained the entire way there, but we didn't care.  We talked a little and listened a lot to The Help on CD.

We were pleased with our cabin (we've never been disappointed with any place we've rented with VRBO).  It was tucked deep in the woods on top of a mountain and it was just right … private, mountain view, hot tub on the porch … what more could you want?  Blue Ridge itself did leave a lot to be desired (by us anyway) … more about that later.  I just wanted to share a few of our pix from where we stayed ...
