It's Time!!

Gardening time that is. YAY!! I've been reading and thinking and planning. And today we went to Home Depot. I have decided to try something new ... starting all my plants as seeds indoors.

Here's what I bought:

Burpee Ultimate Growing System - I live in the deep south and since I am growing my veggies for my own little hobby purposes I don't really think it's necessary to have an elaborate setup. This should suffice just fine.

And I bought cucumbers, beans, carrots, Sugar Baby watermelons, Roma & Big Boy tomatoes, jalapenos and zucchini. OH .... and strawberry plants!! I am very excited about the strawberries, as well as the blueberry bushes we're going to get soon (and hopefully the Meyer lemon trees we'll also get).

We also bought a ton of seeds for the girls to begin their own gardens. They're going to plant flowers and do an experiment to see which does better ... transplants started indoors or direct sowing. Hmmmmm.

OK .... I wanted to post since it's been so long. I'm really going to try to post more. I had all but abandoned this blog since Facebook had become so addictive. But Facebook has changed their setup and it's not nearly as interesting and fun (in my very humble opinion).

This post is rather boring, but I wanted to write something! I'm thinking on changing up the format/prupose of this blog. What do you think?? We'll see. *Think Think Think*

  1. Ooo, strawberry plants. I've always been tempted, but I've never tried them myself. I'll be interested to see how yours turn out.

  2. Kristina - Welcome to my blog - thanks for commenting! I am seeing tiny strawberries just beginning to form. I hope this works out well ... I bought 2 June-bearing and 2 ever-bearing types, so hopefully we'll get a few berries this year!
